Finally an update! So much to update but in the mean time we took some much needed family pictuers of the kids. Alexa's was so so kind and snapped tons of wonderful pictures and here are some to start. :) I wanted to do it early before we got to hot into summer but we had to wait for Ms. Brinely's cast to come off. Yes cast! That makes for another update. So here are a few for now.

This just melts my heart. This was my Mothers' Day gift from Mason from school. I just love the little things they make so I hope they don't stop coming. There was a little poem on the back and it was very cute. So Happy Mothers' Day to all. :)

Nothing is really happening but since my last post was the twins Birthday and that was two months ago it's about time to post a little something. Here is my diaper cake I made for a friends shower. Nothing fancy just cuter than two plain packs of diapers. My neighbor came over and shared some of her secrets on how to make them so I thought I would give it a try. :)

Ashton and Brinley turned 4!!!!! I know I am late but I still wanted to post something. I still remeber so very well both of them as babies tiny as can be and a lot of work. They are still a lot of work but in a whole different way. They are so fun and such big helpers. Happy Birthday you two!

What Babygate?!?!?!?

I don't remember any of my kids being this little and climbing over the gate. We have tried to make it last but at first Tillman kept just pushing over the gate and just walking right over it. So the suit case was so he couldn't just push it over. Now he just put his toes in the crack and in two seconds flat he is up all the stairs. He is only 13 months what now?? More expensive gate not at this point. Oh well the memories. :)

Ok so those of you that were worried about our turtle from my previous post no worries we found it!!!!! It managed to get out of it's tub thing and it was hiding under some leaves. Probably because it was freezing out side. Smart turtle if you ask me. :)

I don't have pictures today but hopefully I will get some up soon. I don't know what is going on with the lack of posts but we are alive and doing well. Nothing new or crazy going on just the norm. Maybe that's why there is no post. But we are missing a turtle so if you have seen it let us know it might be in the back yard but we are fearing the worst A CAT! Brinley has been asking for a while now for us to help her ride a bike without training wheels and I told her that when it cooled off we would go to the park and learn on the grass. But she is one determined little girl. She comes in and says "mom come watch me ride the bike" and sure enough she is just riding away in the back yard. Mason was three when he learned guess she is right on track.

Ok. This has all hit me like a ton of bricks. Maybe having all your kids before your oldest went to kindergarten wasn't such a good idea. There is no easing into the school thing that way. Mason had his first day of kindergarten at Benjamin Franklin Charter School. At first I didn't think it was going to work for me but now it is going better.

Of course Mason is First in line. Let's just say it's a good place for him.

Then Ashton and Brinley had there first day of Preschool. They kept saying they wanted me to stay and where was I going and what was I going to do but when I dropped them off they didn't look back. I am so so glad they have each other.

Last but not least my baby is crawling. Well kinda scooting along. He has been on all fours for a while but now he is on the move. He even tried to pull him self onto the couch yesterday. I'm not ready for this. Next thing you know I will be posting his first steps. Now you know why this is all happening too fast!!!!!!

Meet Pecker!

Well you see we have this chicken! Mason has always always wanted a pet. The answer always always has been NO! But this time what can you do. He went on a little trip with Colton's mom for the 24th of July up north and was at the Snowflake rodeo and caught a chicken (I guess that's what they do at rodeo's for kids) and of course had to take it home. Innocently enough its name is "Pecker" because it pecks everything. Colton and my dad made a little place for Pecker to stay and today it laid and egg. A large egg. We now have a chicken named "Pecker" who lays eggs.

Our toilet hasn't not been working right for a few days now and Colton was just about to call a plumber when I said just take it up and see if there is something in it. ie toys, rocks, silverware. And sure enough something was there. A name badge from the kids club at the mall. About the size of a debit card just block the toilet crap (literally) from going into the pipe. Just add plumber to Colton's list of this he can do!!!!! No one has confessed but Mason is out of town.

Weekend Camping

Most of you know that I am not up for taking the kids anywhere let alone by myself. But I did. Overnight camping!!!! My family had a little trip planned and Colton ended up having to work and they talked me into going. My sister and I did just they over night thing. We drove up Friday early with my sister and her family and came back Saturday before dark. The kids were actually really good. My brother had the tent set up before we got there and everyone helped keep track of the kids. I am glad I went the kids had a blast. The only problem was on the way home Ashton kept puking. Poor guy! I had to pull over a few times but at least my brother and sister were all following so they also stopped to help.

Welcome Home Sister Grant!

Today Colton's sister came home from her mission and the kids were so excited to see her and the Airplanes! They got out of the car and ran over to watch them land. Good thing we got there a little early because they didn't want to leave the parking garage. Brooklyn was in the Philippines for a year and a half. I don't think I could have done that. Way to go Brooklyn. Here are a few pics from the Airport. We love you Brooklyn and are happy to have you home!!!!

Mason's 5th Birthday was on the 5th and I am a little behind but it has been crazy for us. Things have settled and I wanted to post a little something for his Birthday. 5 years ago we were in the delivery room expecting our first child. We were told it was going to be a girl. But little did we know our little Brinley wasn't coming just yet. We had everything ready for a girl to arrive and when our baby came out surprisingly the doctors said "IT'S A BOY!!!!!!" Seriously I couldn't soak in the news. It was pretty emotional for me to bring my now little baby boy home to pink and purple everything. My mom ran to target to get me a few necessities so my baby would have something to come home in and a blanket or two, my mother-in-law purchased new bedding and Colton and his dad stayed up late repainting a purple and yellow bedroom to baby blue and light brown room. I have to admit I was a mess! We didn't have a name nor did we even think of any boy names. As I lay holding my new baby boy that needed a name Colton looked at him and said how bout Mason. What else could I say.... sounds good!!!! As soon as the shock wore off a little I was able adjust to having a little boy instead of what I thought was going to be a little girl. Either way it didn't matter to me what gender my baby was it would have just been nice to know the correct one. He was a healthy 7lbs 8oz and 21in. long. He has definitely brought so much life to our family. He is now going to be starting kindergarten and I just can believe how he has grown. We had a little party for him and he was so excited to be the birthday BOY! I love you so much Mason! You are getting to be such a big boy.

Ok so maybe I cried just a little but yes this is Tillman with a SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ashton just started playing with him like always but this time Ashton said "mom he smiled" of course I had to grab the camera as proof. Each day he is showing small signs of improvement. I thought this day would never come!!!! He is still pretty fussy but one smile a day I will take it. :)

I know pictures in the hospital aren't cute at all but I thought this one was. I had opened the blinds to let the sunlight in and I guess it was too much for him so he put his arm over his eyes. Even in the second picture you can see he has his legs crossed. Just relaxing I guess. Still no new on what he does have but they have said everything they tested for he doesn't have. So good and bad. But at least he is keeping down the formula they are feeding him through the tube. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Hopefully this will pass soon.

Tillman in the Hospital

Tillman has been very sick this past week and finally I took him to the doctor on Thursday and he said if he doesn't drink anything he need to go to the hospital for an IV. Well he stoped drinking all together and Colton ended up taking him to the ER on Friday. They ended up keeping him and he is still there. They still haven't said exactly what the problem is but let just say the poor guy has been through a lot. I mean a lot. He has a problem with his intestine. It started growing back inside of itself. Which means he is having a lot of stomach pains. He just cries and moans all day but before I left today (Colton and I did a little switch of shifts) they brought in a bouncer and he was actually playing with the toys. They are still waiting for all the test results but I am hoping he feels better soon! Thanks for everyone's help so Colton or I can be with him.

Feeding Coco

We don't have a dog and probably with never have a dog but we don't mind feeding someone else's dog while they are away. My cousin lives just a couple houses down and they asked if you could feed their dog for a couple days. My kids used to be deathly afraid of dogs. I mean it was bad. The boys have slowly but surely come around and are now friendly with some dogs. Brinley on the other hand still deathly afraid. You can see below. The boys had so so much fun and even Coco whimpered at the gate when we left. Ashton only stepped in poo once!

Brinley stood at the gate for a LONG time and then finally ask if Colton would carry her to the trash can. Baby steps!

Happy Birthday Colton! And What's Better Than a Twin?

Yesterday was Colton's Birthday!! So I just want to say Happy Birthday to a wonderful Father and Husband. At our house when it is someone's birthday it is everyone's birthday. As you can see everyone got to blow out a candle. I was also making for FIRST time one of these giant cupcakes. The kids were so excited but it took way longer to bake then it said. The kids had to go to bed so they didn't see the final project until morning. But were still excited. It turned out ok but more of a learning expirence I would say.

Last but not least Colton was giving the kids a bath and put Tillman in the bumbo in front of the mirror. What is better than a twin???? Your own reflection!!! He was just cracking himself up. He was just laughing and giggling the whole time. Very cute!

Another Project Has Begun

This was another project on my list and finally it is under way. We have been in our home almost a year and since day one I had wanted to change out the hardware on the doors. So finally we have project #2 started and almost completed. Project #1 (tile is almost ready for after pictures). To some of you this may not have bothered you at all but it really bugged me! Problem solved.

So I started singing to Tillman and this is what happened! Guess he didn't like it very much.

I think it is time for a little up date but we really don't have much going on. Colton is laying our tile and as soon as he is done I will have some before and after pictures. The kids just play all day and I can't wait for bed time each day. Tillman is just getting so big and so fun. We just love him so much! Anyways hopefully the next post will be our new tile!!!!!

I told the kids to get shoes on in the house the other day due to all the demo of tile are carpet we got going on and this is who came back with what.... Mason flip flops ok they match and they are on the right feet but not the most protective wear in a construction zone. Brinely hot pink high heals, that's my girl!!!! And then we have Ashton, miss match shoes one on the wrong foot. The boy could care less. E for effort. Love em all!!!!!

Most people put items on top of the fridge they are trying to keep away from the kids. Not in our house. Nothing is safe.

My friend is having a baby girl soon and the only time I get to get anything done is when the kids are in bed. Well someone woke up while I was hard at work making these super cute head bands for her. So what else to do but try them on. The little guy is even smiling. Twins B-Day and Tillman's Blessing

The twins 3rd birthday was actually the 12th but I am finally posting it now. We celebrated it a couple weeks ago after Tillman's blessing because family was already coming out. They had a great time. They will always share their birthday and I hope they stay best friends. I love my twinners!!! Happy Birthday Brinley and Ashton.

We don't have cable which means we don't have MTV or VH1 or any music shows but we did watch the Grammy's the other day and Brinley came out of the play room looking like this and said Mason colored on her face. What???? He then said "now she looks like Lady GaGa". She had crap all over her face when she was performing. Random. I didn't even know he was paying attention to what we were watching.

My sweet little baby was in the hospital last week with RSV. It was a heartbreaking three days. He is doing much better but still not out of the woods yet. We call him simile pants because he just seems to smile all the time. The nursers couldn't believe how happy he was even though he was sick. Glad to be home and able to love on him again. All the machines and tubes made it hard to snuggle him up and rock him to sleep. His fever was really high so he was in just a diaper. Poor little guy!!!!!

So this is what happens around here. Kids are just crazy sometimes. Glad our backyard is big enough to handle our kids. So I look out the window and see Ashton golfing with a baseball bat and kickball or something and Mason and Brinley trying to climb a tree. The poor tree but Mason could barely get off the ground and Brinley just climbed right up.

A hair dressers' worst nightmare besides someone cutting their own hair is having a beautiful daughter with like five pieces of hair. Therefore I have to keep cutting those five hairs in hopes of actually styling it one day. Maybe some other hairs with eventually grow in. Anyways so this is her second hair cut. Basically cutting off the mullet. I visioned flipping it out with a head band and it turned out ok. Wish she had beautiful long locks but maybe someday!

Tillman Grant Has Arrived

Just wanted to do a quick update to let everyone know Tillman has arrived and we all are doing good. Just adjusting to everything and the kids are just so excited to hold him. Almost to excited. He was born Thursday evening weight 7lbs and 19in. long. I thought he was going to be much bigger. He is just the sweetest thing. And I do have to say I really like my babies to come one at a time. Not so stressful. Thanks to family for helping us out while Mom was in the hospital. :)

Halloween/Pumpkins 09

Finally I have some Halloween stuff posted!!!!! We carved pumpkins this year at our house Thursday before Halloween which was nice the kids had fun and so did Dad and Grandpa Randy with his saw!

The Friday before Halloween we had our Ward Party. That was pretty much the kids trick or treating because I didn't feel like taking them around the whole neighborhood on Saturday.

But on Saturday Denee invited us to there block party and we went and have tons of fun!!! Then went back to grandma and grandpa's where Mason had fun handing out the candy. Fine with me. I think they had a good Halloween this year, except for someone stealing our blue light from our porch. Another how rude story.... Denee brought our some spiders and ghost and webbing for Mason to put up in front of the house and said all you need is a blue light. So we went and got one and while we were home on a Sunday night someone just took it right out of the porch light. I couldn't believe it. Mason was so upset someone stole his Halloween decorations and cried for days. I guess they needed it more than a four year little boy. How RUDE!!!!!

Today finally Colton has some time to bust out his skills and do our tile and grout. You know what they say the mechanics wife's car never gets fixed, the shoemaker's kids don't have shoes, the hair dressers kids are shaggy, ok so maybe they don't say that, you get my drift, but not our house. Ashton Update

Just wanted to let you all know that I did go ahead and take Ashton to the ER last night just to make sure everything was ok. I was pretty sure he was fine he wasn't showing any signs of abnormal behaviors. They did an X-Ray and everything looked good!!!!! We didn't get home until 2:00am but it was worth it. On a side note I sure hope that Obama's health care plan doesn't make us wait that long just to see the doctor. It was rough!!!!

The Biggest Goose Egg Ever!

I consider my kids a pretty rowdy bunch of kids and I think we have been pretty lucky with injuries. But this one I think is a big one. Poor Ashton came in contact with a chair wrestling around and boy did it leave a mark. He has a pretty big forehead anyways then a big goose egg to make it even bigger. He seemed to be doing fine but it makes my head ache. What a tough guy. I just hope it doesn't get any worse. No matter how many time you say stop messing around before someone gets hurt it is always a little late!

Now A Necessity!

A few weeks ago our washer died on us and you don't realize how important it is until you don't have it anymore. We went about two weeks without, deciding on what to do. I have been wanting the latest and greatest but found them rather pricey and never looked into it. After finding a great deal and a $75 SRP rebate we made the investment and I couldn't be happier. I now consider them a life necessity!!!

First Day of Preschool

We are well over due for a new post!!! Mason started preschool (kindergarten prep) a couple weeks ago. He and I both are very excited. We have had a couple adventures but hopefully they won't happen again. Mason got put on the wrong bus coming home and had to sit on the bus until the driver finished his route and then brought Mason home. It was over an hour late. He seemed fine but me not so much. He is only four people!!!!! Anyways he loves it and is doing great.

Heap Reunion 2009

Here is just a taste of what is to come. I am going to have to post in sections because there are tons of pictures and tons of stories. We had our annual Heap Reunion camping in the mountains for 5 days!!!! The kids, epically Mason just loved it. Me on the other hand is really looking forward to next year when I am not pregnant. It was fun but a little rough for me. I would do it again in a heart beat for the kids and when I say kids that includes Colton the biggest one of them all. I just picked a few random pictures to get started.

Brinley is going to be a big helper for me when this baby is born. Every time Maya woke up Brinley was all over her and just had to help aunt Denee. Well she thought she was helping.

Don't Jump!

Yesterday I sent the kids outside to play while I was cooking dinner. I took a peek out side because they were all yelling over the fence at the neighbors. Come to find out they are trying to relax in their pool and Mason was asking if he could come swim too. Poor neighbors. When I went to get the camera they were all three standing on the highest point of that swing set. I can't believe they are not scared.

In this picture it looks like Mason is trying to convince her to jump. I am sure he said "I will catch you". I don't think so!!!!

Colton has been working very hard on cleaning up our back yard. We haven't really posted pictures of our new house because it has been a work in progress. But we actually have a little bit of green grass growing. Getting rid of weeds that have roots like trees and preventing them from coming back has been the challenge. But I do have to say it is looking like a back yard now. There are still some spots that need a little TLC but it is way better than before.

Mason's Birthday!

Mason just turned 4 and we had our families over for some fun! We didn't have candles so Mason was a good sport and just pretended to blow out the candles. The kids played in Mason's new slip n slide and had a blast. I should have taken more pictures but didn't. He is getting so big and so smart. It is hard to pull a fast one on him now but glad he is learning. Happy Birthday buddy!!!!

Pregnancy Update

Well I tried so hard to avoid this....

But I needed some of this.....

So the doc sent me to the ER after what I thought was going to be my monthly check up. I guess when you loose 10lbs in four weeks pregnant that might be a red flag that something is not right. Don't get me wrong I don't mind the loss but it was very unhealthy for me and the baby. Other than that everything else is fine with me and baby. The good news is they changed my medicine and I have been feeling a little better. The medicine makes me an angry drunk at times but I am able to eat!!!!!!

I had my first doctors appt. today and the whole way there I just kept preparing myself if it was twins everything would still be ok. I could do this.

I was thinking this could be bad but doable.

But I don't have to worry any longer. There is just ONE little peanut this time around.

I have to say relieved we are.

Due date.. The day after thanksgiving (26th) and the doctor is requesting another C-section.

Everything else looks good I just carry my barf bag in purse. Or a big cup while driving. Much easier than a Ziploc.

Probably way TMI but it might be like this for awhile folks!

I just have to say that Colton is the best Mr. Mom there is. I haven't been feeling very well and he has really stepped up. I don't know how he is doing it. He comes home from work and still manages to do carpets, cook dinner, do the dishes, give the kids baths, put the kids to bed, mop and pick up the house. I couldn't ask for anything else. Hopefully I will be back at it in no time. Ok it might be a while but maybe in no time at all. What a great Dad!

No More Training Wheels!

This is kinda a funny story how this all started with Mason riding his bike with no training wheels. For some reason my kids just teach themselves everything. What good parents I know. If something is laying around the yard they pick it up and figure it out. Everyone always ask how and why and I can't even take credit for it.

Last week we had Colton's mom over to babysit while we went to a family BBQ and when we get home and his mom was telling us all about Mason riding this random bike in the back yard with no training wheels. Colton and I were so confused and didn't know what she was talking about. There was a bike that we had laying in the yard with no training wheels and Mason told his grandma that the boys down the street can ride with no training wheels but he can't do it very good. So grandma being a good sport helped him ride all night long. When we got home she just couldn't believe that the whole time she thought he had been practicing when actually we hadn't helped him do it at ALL! I guess he had been trying on his own and picked it up.

Since that day he just kept trying all by himself and kept saying he really wanted to do it. Colton finally said ok Mason lets go out in the street and try. No pads or helmet or even tennis shoes and he just takes off down the road all by himself. I was shocked! He is not even four yet. I took a few pictures and a viedo but I won't bore you with the viedo just the pictures.

Dear Dr. Phil

I am seriously considering writing Dr. Phil and adding my two cents just like everyone else. But then I was thinking no one would even read it. This is why I am posting it because I feel like maybe someone will read it. My thoughts of course are regarding Nadya Suleman. I am boiling inside for many reason most of them have already been addressed by Dr. Phil himself but the one thing I can not get over is that she keeps says everything is 100% for the children. All that I have to say is BULL crap. If all that I had to do was have kids life would be great. If I had some one to take care of my children or help with my children, feed my children, put food on my table, remodel my house, provide cribs, car seats, nanny them, play with them, provide diapers, wipes, formula, toys, clothes, clean the house, do the laundry and what ever else everyone is doing for her for FREE. That is for her. That is the easy way out for her. What does she do to provide for her children NOTHING! This was her plan all along to just wait and let everyone else do all the work for her. She thinks she is going back to school in a year....the school is going to make "special arrangements" for her to bring her kids to day care. I bet she is not paying for it. How is she going to get them there she doesn't have a vehicle big enough. Oh wait she is waiting for someone to take care of that for her. Like everyone else we work hard to provide for our family. We do the best we can. My family has no health insurance but we do the best we can. Does Nayda clip coupons..I don't think so. Everyone struggles it's hard and we all are looking for a break but come on. People in California aren't even getting state tax returns because the state has no money to pay them. Maybe because they spent it all on Nayda's children's care. It actually might not be a bad idea for them to go to foster care or be adopted. She cannot take care of all those children. Someone else is already taking care of them. Once her care is done for those babies what is going to happen? I am sure foster care isn't the greatest but I know a few people that would love those babies. They are never going to be normal. The might just be better off somewhere else. I am sure she enjoys all this attention and free stuff but one day it will all go away and then what? Her kids are going to be in jail cause their mom is "CRAZY" and if they would have been in a "family" not a circus, life just might be a little different. There are some women out there like Nayda that should NOT be allowed to bring children into this world. What message is this sending have as many children as you want and someone else with do all the work and pick up the bill. Anyways nothing I can do about it but I am glad you all are reading. I would never give one penny to her or those babies but I would gladly take one baby (or two) and raise him or her as my own.

On Saturday Brinley had a fun day with mom. We went to my cousin Alexis's bridal shower at my aunts house. It was a packed house. I helped out a little bit with the food preparation but I think I ate more than I made. JK Brinley thought it was great because they don't get one on one time very often with anyone let alone mom. No we are not moving just the stuff on these shelves. You can only take so much MESS!!!! This picture is a regular moment at our home. Ashton with no assistance can climb the cabinets open the cupboard and dump something in two seconds flat. I am so done cleaning up salt, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar, cooking spray, lotion and much more. So we pack everything up and the little man himself helped in hopes of showing him there is NOTHING here anymore. Poor Mason thought we were moving again. It's almost as funny when Mason asks who is coming over when we start cleaning. Can't we just clean up.

Glen Beck

I am not big on politics really or at all. Actually this year was my first year voting. In past years I would often ask Colton if we are Republicans or Democrats that's how much I cared. Colton listens and watches this man Glen Beck. Now he even records his show everyday at 3:00 therefore some days I am forced to watch it weather I like it or not. Now I don't mind so much. I like to watch it cause he tells it like it is and I don't like to watch it cause he tells it like it is. I watch him and I think the whole world is done for some times. Anyways today on Glen Beck he has this little graph of home prices since before the Great Depresion. I just look at his graph and think two things:

1. How on earth did some people (mainly the banks) let it get this bad. Didn't someone think this might not be good.

2. Those people that bought or even refied at the peek basically will never recover. Seriously! If we never had a peek in the first place things wouldn't be bad at all.

I know everyone all ready knows and is saying the same thing but I thought the graph says it all.

I Can't Believe I Survived Two Years!!!

Today is Brinley and Ashton's 2nd Birthday!!! I truly honestly thought I wouldn't live to see this day. Looking back at all the pictures I just don't know how we survived. We have had wonderful help for the first six week that came and went when I really think I needed at full time nanny, chef, and housekeeper. But we all know that would never happen. They are such a joy to have around but boy was it rough.

It all started when I went to the doctors to get some medicine because I probably hadn't eaten in a few days when I walked out of the office with this one month after Mason's first birthday.......

Colton was at work and didn't believe me. My first thought was this might be fun.

Then I started looking like this. And just looking at it my stomach just hurts.

Yesterday was Colton's Dads 50th B-Day!!!!! He is the best grandpa the kids could ever ask for. Seriously! Example A Mason called grandpa to say happy birthday. I could only hear what Mason was saying so I am guessing it went a little like this:

Mason: Happy Birthday Grandpa.

G-Pa: Thanks.

Mason: Are you having a party?

G-Pa: No but you can still come over. What kind of cake do you want?

Mason: Grave Digger

G-Pa: Ok maybe I will make you one.

Then Colton gets home from work and lets Mason call to say we are one our way.

Mason: Hi Grandpa we are on our way did you make my grave digger cake?

G-Pa: Uh No.

Mason: But you said you were going to make me one

G-Pa: Ok Mason I will make you one.

When we get to Grandpa's house he is not there......He is at the store buying frosting to make Mason's cake!!! Mason never forgets anything. What a great grandpa. Happy Birthday!

We are slowing decorating our new home. I had to order my curtains because they didn't have the length that I needed in stock. They have been on back order for about two months now and I new they would come soon because Tuesday I was the hostess for bunco and of course they came the next day. Family Night At Cold Stone

Nothing like a little Cold Stone in December. What a better way to spend family night. Eating ice cream as a family. The kids loved it and we tried to leave when they weren't done and Ashton was not leaving until his ice cream was finished. It was the funniest thing to see him so possessive over his ice cream. Colton tried to put a lid on to take it home and he kept saying "mine" "mine" and just kept eating. I think he gets that from his dad. I'm not a big ice cream girl. We will definenlty have to do it again some time. Maybe in the summer.

My life has changed forever! Santa (we) and Grandma and Grandpa Grant went in on a swing set and miracles do happen. The kids have found something better to do then bother me all day. I hope it lasts longer that a week.

It took along time to build like two days, but it was well worth it!

Somebody's Potty Trained

Ok I wasn't going to post anything about potty training because I didn't want it to back fire on me. But I am just so excited! For the past month now Brinley has been asking and asking to sit on the potty. She has gone a couple times but I didn't have any panties for her to wear and kept forgetting to get some when I went to the store. So then she kept taking her diaper off and she peeded on the floor and out side. I knew she was so ready. So Monday night we went into town and finally I got her some panties. Tuesday was ok a few accidents but to my surprise she was already telling me when she needed to go. Today even better. She had two poo accidents back to back but she told me she had to poop and tried on the potty but it just wasn't happening. So tonight same thing told me she had to poo sat on the potty nothing then two minutes late said she had to go again. And she went!!! Yea! Mason took awhile to get the whole poo thing down but potty trained also before he turned two. So she basically potty trained in two days. I guess that is my blessing for having twins. Brinley is so excited to wear big girl panties and go potty on the big girl potty. One down one to go. Ashton has no clue when it comes to potty training. He is going to be a rough one I can already tell. Wish us luck!

This weekend is moving weekend for us. I FINALLY got the keys to our new house. It seems like we have said we are moving for almost three months now. Oh wait it has been three months. Oh well. It is worth it. It is warm out but at least it is not summer. I am so excited and can't wait to get settled. All the house needs is a little TLC and she will be ready for move in. Today is our 5th anniversary and what do we get to do but celebrate it like an old married couple at the ward party. We did get to go out on a date on Thursday when our free babysitters could baby sit and it was really nice to get to spend time with each other and actually talk and have a conversation with out interruption. I had to go into town this morning to get my hair done and Colton actually took all the kids to the store to get me five things that I liked including a card and roses. I can't believe he took all the kids somewhere in public by himself. I don't think that has ever happend. That's when you know it must be special. I just can't believe it has been five years already. Colton is a great father and husband. He is so willing to do whatever it takes to take care of his family and I love that about him. I am so grateful for him and just don't know what I would do without him. I wish I had some old wedding pics but they are packed up in a box in the garage and I am not digging for them sorry. Making Bread 101

This may come to a surprise for most of you that know me, ok maybe all of you that know me, but home made bread was made in my kitchen! Lately I have been feeling like a horrible mom and wife because I really have no idea how to cook. I have never used a cup of flour in my life. So what do I do... call some reinforcement, my mom. She had to bring all the ingredients, the pans, and the mixer. She has been very willing to help me out. I guess I just have been spoiled because my mom often makes "extra for me to take or she even brings them over" my sister says "if you guys aren't doing anything for dinner you can come over I made tons". So what would you do???? Well it is time to learn. We started out with me learning that there are two kinds of wheat. White and red. Who knew. You grind the wheat and that makes the flour. That is very good to know. Then I learned about dough enhancer. You have to have that. And everything else goes in the Bosch (that was new too) and you mix it all up. It is sad the my littlest brother can do this way better than me. Well betty crocker watch out cause here I come. It might take awhile but it is not that hard at all. I need to purchase many ingredients or all of the ingredients to get started I even need more baking pans. Monday is meatloaf and Kasey your favorite no bake cookies. (can't you tell we are finding ways to use oatmeal) I think I can get the hang of this. Hopefully there will be more baking to come. Wish me luck!

First Day of Pre-School

Mason had his first day of preschool on Friday and I don't know who was more excited me or him. He was very excited but at the same time I think he was a little nervous. But his teachers said he did very well and had a good time. While he was gone the babies and I ran to walmart for a few things and I can get used to this preschool thing. It was nice only taking two kids to the store. And that is why I was excited!

Slacker!!!!

I have been slacking in the blog department lately. We have been on the hunt for a new home, packing and cleaning for weeks now. Not to mention the "honey do's" that have been untouched for a LONG time. I feel this is never ending and very stressful. I just don't know how people keep their home so clean. All that I do all day I mean all day is follow my children around with a rag or broom and it's still messy. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I am working on that. House for Rent in Queen Creek

There is new carpet in main areas and tile in kitchen areas and all bathrooms. We have a community pool and clubhouse along with parks and grassy areas. The house is very clean and well kept.

Heap Reunion 08

I hope you are ready for some pictures. We just got back from a family reunion on Sunday and I think I took over 100 pictures. Of course I am not going to post them all but just a few. We went camping in the Mountains for 5 days. Not my ideal vacation but I am glad it is only once a year and we get to hang out with family and play in the dirt. The boys I think had the time of their lives and Brinley on the other hand not so much. Maybe next year will be better for her. After loads and loads of laundry and a few showers I think we are just glad to be home. :)

We made her ride the four wheelers but she didn't like it at all. But Ashton did.

Ok I know that was super long but we did have a good time. Five days away from home was nice but I am so glad it is over with. I guess we just start planning for next year now!

I guess I forgot to post our 4th of July lake trip. We went out to Roosevelt Lake for the whole day and what an adventure.

Sonic Ice! Well some of you might think this is random but when you are home all day with the kids a Dr. Pepper (or two) always saves the day. Normally I don't like ice in my DP because I don't drink it fast enough and then it taste like water Dr. Pepper but these days they go fast. I was always wondering what the big excitment was about the big blue bag of ice you purchase from sonic but there is just something about it that taste so good. I just wanted to thank Brandi for the all this new found excitment in the Grant house. What would you do without family and of course Dr. Pepper.

I like to capture my children at least once a year just to remember that age. So I usually go to walmart or target and do a quick fast and easy session. The other day I took Mason to get his done since it had been over a year and the cheapest package was $7.99. Perfect that is just what I wanted. Well the twins are also in need of a session and I went to make an appointment and now they cost $79.99. I ask the girl I think three times how much????? It was four days later when I went to schedule the babies appt. I quess they went digital. I think it must be the gas prices. No thanks walmart. Target here we come. Don't let walmart fool you too.

Watching Airplanes

I guess you can't drive by the airport and not stop and watch the airplanes. It must be a Grant thing I don't know. But yesterday we were just driving by and Colton thought it would be the coolest thing ever to stop for the kids but I really think it was for him. :) So we parked and watched and watched and watched.

First we parked here and just let Mason watch for a few minutes.

And he saw this about 30 times.

Then we parked here and let all the kids get out.

And they saw this about 30 more times. They got to see the airplanes drive all the way to where they were going to take of and then actually got to see them take off and what was most important was that they could hear everything.

Watching....

Just look at Mason's eyes and you can tell an airplane was taking off. He didn't want to look away for even a second.

Brinley...what are we looking at again?

I know you can't see much because yes we stayed till dark but don't worry the planes had head lights and best of all grandma was at work and drove over to see us in her tug. I fought Mason so hard because he all he wanted was to go ride with grandma but there was a big fence in between us and her.

Roosevelt Lake

Well since this summer all that we have done is swimming I am just going to have to post more swimming pictures. Last Saturday we all went to Roosevelt Lake. And it was an adventure lets just say that. The kids had a blast and it was nice to get out of the house.

Grandpa gave Ashton a sucker and he was a happy camper.

Today is Mason's 3rd birthday!! He is such a big helper and a great big brother. He is just getting so big so fast. Next thing you know he will be off to school. We love you Mason and Happy Birthday!

Double Decker Carousel

Yesterday we went to Superstition Mall to let the kids ride the new double decker carousel and play and do a little shopping. The babies weren't so sure about the ride but towards the end realize they were having a good time.

But the funniest part of the whole day was when I walked by this vending machine. Not your ordinary vending machine. This one had everything you would have in your diaper bag. Diapers, wipes, binkies, and much more. Who would have thought. The best part was that it only took debit or credit. You don't even have to have cash. So if you forgot to pack the diapers or dropped the bink head right behind the service desk and they will have everything you need.

Vegas Trip

For Memorial weekend we went on a little trip the Las Vegas with the whole fam. The car ride wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am not big on road trips but Colton is, so sometimes we just have to do it. I would rather be on a plane and meet ya there in 45 min instead of the 6 hour drive. Once we got there Mason and the twins had so much fun. They loved being able to run around and play. Mason espically loved playing with Crew. Mason thinks they are best friends now. We just wanted to say thanks to Tanner and Andrea for inviting us and Brad and Kathy for letting us intrude upon their house.

We went to Circus Circus and Mason didn't want to leave. It was kinda hard for us because if you can imagine it was over crowed with tons of kids and people and then me with a monster double stroller trying to make my way around. They did get to play a couple games and even won some prizes.

The basketball court was a hit. Who knew everyone would have so much fun!

When it hits 110*........

My sister came over with her kids and we headed off to the pool. I just took Mason becasue I was sure if the water would be to cold for the babies. The water was perfect and the kids had so much fun. If it is already 110* outside I am sure we will be at the pool tons this summer. Good thing it's right around the corner.

I am glad that the kids are finding ways to entertain themselves these days. It makes my life a whole lot easier. First when my mom came over to babysit last saturday so Colton and I could have a night out Ashton discovered the drawer under the over and took out all the pans. So then the other day I find Ashton and Brinley sitting and just playing in the drawer. Must be fun!

Today I let all the kids go outside and play and they are just laughing so I had to take a peek and this is what I saw.....

Mason is in the palm tree. Ashton just doesn't know when to stop yet.

5 Embarrassing Facts

I don't really get embarrassed. Most of the time I am laughing just as hard as everyone else. This is the best I can think of. Thanks Kasey for the tag.... here she goes.

1. When I was about seven months prego with Mason I went crib shopping with my mom and her husband and my brother, we had just eaten lunch at the mall and my mom took one look at my face and told me to sit and threw me the trash can and sure enough I puked and puked right in the middle of the store. I made it in the trash thanks to my mom but the poor boy who had to take out the trash. I did make me feel better when he said "this happens all the time"

2. We had neighbors moving in two houses down and they parked their U-hall trailer in front of the peoples house across from us and it was so low to the ground that I couldn't see it in my mirros and back right into it when they were all standing out side watching me. OOPS

3. In high school during volley ball practice I went up to spike the ball really hard during a drill and sprained my ankle really really bad when I came down. I felt kinda stupid.

4. I was big pregnant with the twin walking into Micheals and I was wearing flip flops and there was a little spot of water of course I couldn't see it (I couldn't even see my feet) so I slipped. I didn't fall down but the poor lady I grab onto was scared to death. She was in front of me and didn't even see me coming. She turned around and I said sorry and walked away. I hope she didn' t think I was going to rob her or anything.

5. I don't really get embarrassed but when I venture out with all three of my children by myself I usually get some funny looks. I just feel like saying it could be worse haven't you ever seen "Jon and Kate plus eight".

Today is Colton Birthday so I just wanted to say Happy Birthday. I am sure your mom is proud of you and everything you have accomplished. You are a loving husband and father. You would do anything for your family. You are such a people pleaser and a peacemaker. Everytime you come home from work it reminds me of that primary song "I'm so glad when daddy comes home" because when the kids hear your truck pull in the drive way they run as fast as they can to get the first hug.
